Meet the amazing Climate Change Champions from South Asia raising awareness and taking actions to build a greener planet!

Bangladesh

He empowers young people in his community to tackle climate change and promote children’s rights through the “Lal Sabuj Society” he created in 2015. At the age of 12, Tahsin started publishing a monthly newspaper named “The Monthly Lal Sabuj” writing about the impact of climate change on children in his community. Tahsin attended the UNGA last year and will be one of the mentors of the upcoming Voices of Youth global mediathon. (Instagram)

Nepal

She is a passionate socio-environmental and climate activist. Over the last 4 years, she has actively been involved in spreading awareness, advocating policies, and taking action for the climate. Currently, she is the face of Nepalese Youth for Climate Action (NYCA), a national-not-for profit youth network that contributes to SDG 13 i.e., Climate Action, by empowering the young people of Nepal and encouraging them to take urgent action for our future. Bhutan

Kinga is pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Nursing and Midwifery in Thimphu. She is very active on social media and is passionate about blogging and vlogging. She is a volunteer with Harmony Youth Volunteers (since 2016) and YPEER in Bhutan. (Facebook, Youtube)

Pakistan

She is an environmental activist who wishes to see an eco-friendly Pakistan. Zymal is the founder and owner of an innovative social project named Zee bags — an upcycling enterprise that turns old newspapers into beautiful biodegradable bags. (Facebook, Instagram)

India

Divy is a filmmaker, explorer, wildlife enthusiast and almost an engineer. He is passionate about climate change and making this world a better place for all. (Instagram)

Sri Lanka

Senashia is a Programme and Communications Manager at SLYCAN Trust. Senashia is passionate about climate change topics and has her own blog Seni in the Box. (Instagram, Twitter, Blog)

Afghanistan

Ismail is a youth advocate and social media influencer. He conducts awareness raising sessions on child rights for the most vulnerable children and adolescents in Afghanistan. As a social media influencer, he is continuously advocating for child rights, especially right to education. He also writes motivational articles for Afghan webpages. (Instagram)

Maldives

She is the face behind Keep the Scene Clean, a project about keeping the streets of Maldives clean. Rayya is passionate about climate change and environment. She wants to play her part in achieving the SDGs, and contributing to her community. (Facebook, Instagram)
