CV
- A resume/CV is a document that contains a summary of your professional career, the purpose being able to highlight your abilities and qualifications as a perfect fit for the role you are applying for. CV stands for Curriculum Vitae or ‘course of life’.
- It is important to note that the meaning of a CV varies from region to region:
- In South Asia, CV and resume are used interchangeably, but in certain cases you might have to submit a biodata, which contains more personal biographical information- such as date of birth, gender, race, ethnicity, marital status, salary etc.
- In the US, a CV is an academic document that is used to outline one’s entire academic career and focuses on information that is required by universities.
- In Europe and England, however, a CV is a resume for a job which outlines the professional experiences required by potential recruiters.
