Chapter 3: Renewable energy potential in South Asia

A delicious dinner:

Lalima, Tashi, Yurgen, and Lalima’s mother sit around the dining table in the evening. The dinner was delicious and right after, Lalima offered yogurt that she had brought from a popular dairy shop in Lalapur.

“Alright, I’ll get going downstairs and visit the shop for a quick check of today’s new supplies.”

Saying this Yurgen has got up.

Lalima’s mother also stood up to do some work around the house.

After finishing the yogurt, Tashi turned to Lalima and initiated the conversation.

“So, we can chat about renewable energy now.”

Lalima looked up as she scooped the delicious yogurt and replied.

“Yesterday I shared an example of user perspectives on solar water pumps, so that got me thinking. Renewable energy has piqued my interest so I want to learn more about how MSMEs can benefit from renewable energy – not just forcing businesses to adopt renewable energy but integrating renewable energy to improve business operations.”

“You brought up a very important point. To increase the adoption of renewable energy among MSMEs, they need to see a very clear motivation that would support their business. The good thing is that – it does.”
