Farewell
After everyone arrived back at Lalapur, Tashi bid goodbye to each of them, wishing them luck in their ambitious journey ahead.
After Kishor, Aabroo, and Baisali left, Tashi turned to Lalima.
“Before I leave, I want to meet your father.”
They both headed down the street. Lalima’s father was outside the shop loading up a delivery van. As soon as he saw Tashi, Lalima’s father greeted him.
“Hey, how was your day?”
“It was great. We wrapped up the session with a risk evaluation and renewable energy opportunity identification tool that any MSME can use. Your daughter and her friends are a bunch of smart and promising youths.”
“Do you think she can transform my business to be environment-friendly, climate resilient and at the same time grow the business?”
“You have every reason to be proud of her. Without her initiation, we wouldn’t have had this series of discussions. And don’t worry about the succession of your water pump business. Lalima will not only expand it to South Asia, but she will explore different avenues for its growth with renewable energy options.”
“That’s good to hear. Thank you for guiding her and her friends. This means a lot to them.”
Tashi slightly bowed in acknowledgment.
“I’m always there to help, but for now, I have to bid farewell to meet other relatives and friends. Take care and I will see you next time.”
They waved each other goodbye and Tashi walked passed the street.
Lalima’s father continued to load the van while Lalima walked to her home. After having some snacks, Lalima opened her laptop and downloaded the Excel tool that Tashi had emailed everyone earlier.
Lalima (murmuring to herself):
“Let’s now evaluate the risks and identify renewable energy opportunities in my father’s water pump business.”
She comforted herself in the bright room where the pleasant daylight shined through the window.
