Closing Workshop 1
You’ve reached the end of Workshop 1! Here’s what to do next.
- Review the posters: Go over the Strategy Summary Posters 1 and 2 to show participants how the strategy has come together so far and to confirm all details are accurate.
- Next steps: Explain where you are in the whole DSB process, reminding participants that the next steps are 1) the Field Insights phase, and 2) Workshop 2. Go over the timeline developed during Initial Insights so everyone knows when to expect Workshop 2.
- Thank participants: Show gratitude for their participation and ideas. Leave time for final questions, and end with an energiser or music to keep the energy high.
- Take photos, then collect posters and worksheets: Take photos of the wall or tables so you can see how posters were arranged. You will set them up in the same way for Workshop 2. Ensure you have collected the Strategy Summary Posters and Table Worksheets for each group, and labelled them according to their community group.
After Workshop 1: Debrief
⚠️ IMPORTANT: After Workshop 1, the core team should review everything to prepare for Field Insights and Workshop 2. These steps are critical—do not skip!
- If you haven’t already, review collected Strategy Summary Posters and Table Worksheets: Gather completed Summary Posters and Worksheets, including the Table Worksheet: Personas, for every group. Label them with group numbers, and store them safely. You will need these materials at the beginning of Workshop 2, so put them in a safe place to avoid recreating them at the beginning of Workshop 2.
- Check notes: Ask the person responsible for taking notes in the core DSB team if all key points were recorded, and clarify anything that might be missing.
- Update the DSB Strategy Template: Fill in Section 1 and Section 2 of the online strategy template.
- Fill in everything up to column K based on the activities you’ve completed in Workshop 1 (highlighted in yellow in the diagram bellow).
- Column B - C: Add your validated immunization objective(s). Duplicate the tab for a second objective if needed.
- Column E: Record the one to three priority locations.
- Column F: Add the three to five priority communities, including details from Module B personas.
- Column H: List up to three to five prioritised barriers for each community.
- Column I: Note the barriers categories for each barrier.
- Column J: Indicate when the barriers occur (before, during or after vaccination).
- Column K: Indicate if the barriers have a gender component.
- Fill in everything up to column K based on the activities you’ve completed in Workshop 1 (highlighted in yellow in the diagram bellow).

You’ve finished Workshop 1! Good luck as you proceed with Field Insights.
