What You Need

Activity #1: Create a Budget for Your DSB Process
Creating a strategy needs time and money. Planning your budget helps ensure all costs are covered.
Draft a preliminary budget
Use the provided Budget Template or one you already use, and estimate costs for:
- Team fees
- Meetings
- Workshops
- Field Insights
- Implementation costs
- Evaluation
- Miscellaneous
Review your budget
Check your budget to make sure all necessary costs are included. Adjust amounts if needed and calculate the total.
Confirm your budget with decision-makers
- Share your budget with the team and decision-makers for feedback. Consider:
- Does the budget cover everything?
- Is there enough funding for field visits or workshops?
- If there are gaps, how can they be addressed?
- If you haven’t found a funding source for your DSB process yet, use the budget to build your funding proposal to share with relevant donors.
