- Ask them what they see their friends doing and whether they accept those behaviors👍.
- Find people who the community trusts to help promote preventive behaviors.
- Make handwash stations easy to find 🚩and the steps easy to remember.
- Show how much distance is safe📏. Also show people examples of real situations they might be in like queuing at the shops 🛒 or attending a health facility🏥.
- Talk to the community about different options for keeping safe so they can chose the best way for them.
- Explain the risks of not being safe.
- Show proof that these behaviors work.
- Use "we" and model the behaviors.
- When discussing COVID-19 or promoting the vaccine, be honest about what is still unknown.
- Stick to the facts and explain how vaccines work, and inform them of the benefits.
- Communicate with your fellow health workers about behaviors that are hard for them and their patients.
